Dr. Heather Krantz

Dr. Heather Krantz is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Bend, Oregon. She received her medical degree from University of Kansas School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Heather is board-certified in both obstetrics/gynecology and integrative medicine. Her medical degree, internship and residency training were completed at the University of Kansas.  Over the past three decades Dr. Krantz has practiced in HMO, private practice and community health settings.  Heather began to see a large disconnect between traditional medicine and true wellness so she decided to pursue the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil. Dr. Krantz is the first Central Oregon physician to complete the fellowship.

Heather went on to train in medical acupuncture with the Helms Medical Institute and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn.  She have trained in Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting, and the Mindful Schools curriculum as well. Dr. Krantz currently teaches InSight Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion classes as well as mindfulness workshops with Ray Gertler, PhD through the InSight Mindfulness Center.

Dr. Krantz has authored four children’s books.

  • Mind Bubbles: Exploring mindfulness with kids.
  • Heart Bubbles: Exploring compassion with kids.
  • Sleep Bubbles: Using mindfulness to help kids sleep.
  • Bubble Trouble: Using mindfulness to help kids with grief.

The books are for ages 4-8.

Dr. Krantz lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband and son and also our two whippets, cat and crested gecko.  She loves to ski, camp, hike, run, bike, cook and read.  And, yes, she meditate too.
